Sen. Nesbitt calls for working together to improve livelihoods of all Michiganders

LANSING, Mich. — Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt on Wednesday called for bipartisan collaboration to expand opportunities to live, work and raise families in Michigan as the state Senate convened for its first session of the 102nd Legislature.

“The hardworking people of our state sent us here to work together to make Michigan a better place to raise a family, operate a small business, and establish a home. We owe it to our constituents to recognize the importance of the duties that lie before us and focus on the solutions that will make their lives better,” said Nesbitt, R-Porter Township.

“It is my hope that we effectively serve by empowering the people to strengthen our economy, help family budgets, and improve educational opportunities. The people entrusted us with this great honor, and we have a responsibility to achieve results.”

Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbit, R-Porter Township, is joined Wednesday by his wife, Trisha, and their children, Catherine and William, on the Senate floor as Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Elizabeth T. Clement administers the oath of office before the first session of the 102nd Legislature.
