LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Aric Nesbitt, R-Lawton, issued the following statement after the Legislature approved landmark no-fault reforms during a special session on Friday:
“Today we joined together to empower families and implement common sense reforms to lower auto insurance rates.
“This bipartisan effort will end the expensive, government-mandated, one-size-fits-all system and will provide drivers with more affordable choices, stop the massive overcharging for care involving auto accidents, and crack down on fraud and lawsuit abuse.
“Lower rates will help our families, particularly those with low incomes, people just starting their careers, seniors, and Michigan job creators seeking to attract talent to our great state.”
