Sen. Nesbitt issues statement following death of Paw Paw firefighter

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Aric Nesbitt, R-Porter Township, issued the following statement after learning a Paw Paw volunteer firefighter died from contact with a downed power line while responding to a call during Wednesday’s winter storm:

“My heart and prayers are with the family of Lt. Ethan M. Quillen, as well as those that served with and knew him. Our communities are blessed by our brave first responders who put the needs of others before their own.

“This tragedy is a hard reminder that these men and women put their lives on the line with each and every call they respond to. May God be with the family of Lt. Quillen during this difficult time.”
